Who We Are
Grant Maddren is continuing on the Maddren Family tradition as a fourth-generation builder.
G.W.M Builders Ltd is a small construction company based in the Rodney area providing quality workmanship with personal service.
Grant has been building for over 35 years. Originally serving his time within his father’s company J.W. Maddren & Son Ltd and working his way up through the business running some very complex projects in both the residential and commercial areas. For the past 20 years, Grant has been accompanied by Russell who originally completed his apprenticeship with the family business and has carried on working with him since.
As a small company, we are able to offer a personalised service to the client.

Grant will oversee the project and work “on the tools” which enables him to see the job through from beginning to end. We also carry a lot of our own plant and equipment which can save our clients on excess hireage.
Over the years we have built up a professional relationship with many subcontractors across the trades and we are happy to recommend these preferred sub-contractors for their reliability and high standard of workmanship.
However, if a client has a contractor they prefer to use we are more than happy to work alongside them.
We understand a lot of clients like to be involved in the planning and construction process and again we are happy to have their input. From project managing the entire job to working on a cost reimbursement basis, we can work with you and with your budget.
Grant and Russell pride themselves on being traditional tradesmen and as licensed builders they are required to undertake skills maintenance to stay up to date with industry changes.
